My pledge to you.
As your choice in candidate I pledge to you an open and honest dialogue on any and all issues that concern our city and ward. My goal as an elected official is simple. To bring back spending accountability, a fair taxation system, and an increase in the employment rate within this great city. I promise to you that I will fight to ensure no taxation increases will be looked at as long as spending inefficiencies and wastefulness continue.
Accountability is key. The prosperity of this great city is intertwined with the faith the citizens have in their elected officials. I will bring back that faith by being solely accountable to you, the voter.
About Nikola.
Born in 1977 and raised in Winnipeg, I moved to Calgary in 2006 to take part in the great Alberta advantage. Prior to 2006, I worked in IT and Telecommunications for a couple of large telecommunication companies, concluding my career there with MTS in Winnipeg. As for my education, during the late 90's I attended the University of Winnipeg, where I majored in Criminal Justice and Political Science, and minored in Economics. Since 2006 I have been fortunate enough to be employed in the oil and gas industry, and have worked through the effects of the last few boom and busts of the international oil markets. I have lived in the north end of Calgary since moving here and have seen this city's expansion first hand, just like all of you. Since I started my career in the oil and gas industry, I have expanded my knowledge and experience as to what a true leader is- someone who is not afraid to speak out when the need arises, and someone who treats anyone and everyone with courtesy and respect regardless of opposing views. A valuable leader is also one who is a good listener; able to hear all opposing view points and do proper research and discussions before making an informed decision. This trait, I believe, is something that I have successfully integrated in to my character.
